The overall objective of the Dushanbe International Conference on Glaciers Preservation is to promote the implementation of the goals and targets of UN General Assembly resolution on declaring “2025 as an International Year of Glaciers’ Preservation”, as well as to mobilize global efforts to prevent further melting of glaciers, preserve their ecosystem functions, and ensure sustainable use of water resources. 

The International Conference on Glaciers Preservation will serve as a platform for advancing global efforts in climate adaptation and resilience, particularly in tackling glacial melting. Th event and the strategic collaboration can foster increased awareness and knowledge exchange to enhance technical capacity and dissemination of best practices and climate responsive and transformative solutions towards integrated and transboundary approach on glacial melting to tackle its negative implications on water and food security and community resilience.
